Jill Frechtman’s designer gourmet chocolate pretzel creations went from an office holiday party favorite to a growing confectionery business.
Jill Frechtman learned at a young age that chocolate and pretzels were a great pair. Often times Jill and her mom would make them at home and always come up with new ideas and flavor combinations.
Frechtman, who worked as an art director for an advertising agency in New York, made her hand-dipped pretzels for an office holiday party. They were a hit, and her co-workers encouraged her to produce more of the confections for other people to try.
Little did she know that her passion and favorite pastime would soon lead her to a successful business.
Frechtman has been able to use her creativity and experience in design to deliver the goods. She perfected the numerous pretzel creations, designed a logo, developed the packaging and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fretzels by Jill was officially born in February of 2005 and has continued to deliver on service and variety that keep the customers coming back.

Through a recommendation from her accountant, Frechtman started using QuickBooks Pro to help get her business started on the right foot.

“Originally the company focused on word of mouth to obtain new customers,” said Frechtman. “The DailyCandy.com article literally increased my business overnight, and each additional piece of press has made a significant impact to my business.”
Jill also focuses a lot of her time on participating in women’s entrepreneur groups such as Ladies Who Launch and Collective-E.
