From American Artist To Business Owner

Share:

John Maggiotto is an accomplished American artist who has a track record for creating imagery and artwork that is rustic and unique.

Some of his early work dealt strictly with imagery of movies, television and the painterly color palette of the Polaroid film SX-70. His collection based on New York has iconic images like the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and even the New York Yankees baseball team. His work has been exhibited all over the Unites States and his resume is quite impressive.

In the early 1980’s he switched from the traditional paper based photography and transitioned to large plates of plaster. Even though the medium changed the images remain remarkable in their simplicity.

His work truly speaks for itself and customers can shop on his website for artwork that will clearly be a great addition to any collection.

One of John’s goals moving forward is to keep getting the word out about his artwork and build a broader audience. He has worked with a catalog company which has been a great avenue for additional sales. Those goals are very similar to a lot of other business owners nowadays.

The back-end of his business however, is now ready to handle the growth without having to pay outrageous service fees.

More and more businesses are looking for mobile solutions that can help them grow their business and obtain more sales. Whether it is a business that only accepted cash or check or a small business that can now travel with their products and services to tradeshows or festivals. John recently signed up for Intuit’s mobile payment processing system called GoPayment a couple of months ago and he is very excited about how it can help his business.

“I am definitely planning on using GoPayment to gain more sales out in the field. The nature of my business didn’t involve a lot of art fairs,” said Maggiotto. “Now those are coming up and having GoPayment will make it worthwhile for my business.”

Before GoPayment, credit card solutions were clunky and the fees weren’t structured for businesses that only need to use the device a few times a month. Small businesses want the affordable option especially with the economy the way it is today.

“I love using GoPayment and it works perfectly for the amount of transactions I have on a monthly basis,” said Maggiotto. “Before, there would be times where I would go a month without sales, but still have to pay servicing fees with other companies. That wasn’t ideal for my business.”

The last two years have been tough for a lot of businesses but the confidence is coming back and John is making sure he is ahead of the game. By creating amazing artwork, offering portrait appointments and making sure his business is ready for growth, there is no doubt he will continue to succeed.
